Please be sure to write down your issued appointment number instead of your name.

We will never ask your name or address.
It's free of charge. You don't need to bring your health insurance card.

You may have difficulty getting through to our appointment line when it's busy.


<Testing day>


This is the Tokyo Metropolitan Testing and Counseling Office(Shinjuku).
The Office is on the second floor of the building located near the north exit of Seibu-Shinjuku Station.

Please give your appointment number at the reception desk. (If you made an appointment on our mobile website, please show the appointment number you received on your mobile phone.)
An application form will be given to you
and you will be asked to write a four-digit number as you like, your age, and gender.











After the reception, please follow the green line.














A waiting room is divided into the waiting area for testing and the waiting area for results and counseling.
*Testing will take approx. 30 minutes including waiting time.

Before blood collection, an information session on the testing procedures, how the results will be delivered, and HIV will be held. If you have any questions or concerns, please let our staff know during this session.





Test result date will be the same day and time one week after the testing day.

Then your blood will be collected.
The amount of blood to be collected is 5 cc (about one teaspoon). Rest assured that all the syringes and needles used to collect blood are new and disposable.





Please receive a copy of your application form.
Please be sure to bring it on the day you receive your result because it will be required when you receive your result.

You cannot receive your test result if you lose or forget to bring the copy of your application form.
If you lose it, you need to be tested again.






Counseling days: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Counseling time: Approximately 15 minutes

Counseling sessions are held for those who wish to receive counseling before and after testing. A HIV counselor will provide counseling on psychological matters and welfare programs, such as fear of HIV infection, useful insurance systems, and condom use problems. Please apply at the reception desk to receive counseling.
※We do not provide any counseling services for those who have not been tested.

For the purpose of protecting privacy, we deliver test results and offer counseling with a doctor only for those who have been tested.




Please submit the copy of the application form you received when testing was completed at the reception desk.

Your test results are provided and explained in separate rooms.
It will only be delivered verbally, and no medical certificates will be issued.

You can ask a doctor if you have any questions or there are matters you are not sure about.
When your result is positive, we will refer you to a medical institution specialized in HIV treatment.

A doctor will provide consultation on prevention so that you can stay HIV-negative.

・Those who receive positive results
A doctor will provide post-test consultation to HIV-positive people to explain HIV infection and the disease and refer them to a medical institution specialized in HIV treatment.
